Will Smith recently sat down with ET’s Kevin Frazier at a fan screening for “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” set to hit theaters on June 7. During the interview, the iconic actor and musician shared his thoughts on the exciting news that his family’s longtime friend, Justin Bieber, and his wife, Hailey Bieber, are expecting their first child.
Smith, a proud father of three, expressed his happiness for the young couple. “I’m really happy for Justin and Hailey. It’s an incredible journey they’re about to embark on,” Smith said with a smile. Having navigated the challenges and joys of parenthood himself, Smith took the opportunity to offer some heartfelt advice.
“The best fatherhood advice I’ve ever received is to always be present,” Smith shared. “It’s not about the big moments; it’s about the little ones. Be there for them, listen to them, and show them unconditional love. That’s what really matters.”
Smith, who has been in the spotlight for decades, reflected on his own experience raising his children—Trey, Jaden, and Willow. He emphasized the importance of balancing career and family, something he has strived to do throughout his life. “It’s a balancing act, for sure. But at the end of the day, family always comes first,” he said.
In addition to discussing fatherhood, Smith opened up about his upcoming music projects. He revealed that he has been working alongside his children, Willow and Jaden, who are both successful musicians in their own right. “It’s been an amazing experience working with Willow and Jaden. They have such unique voices and perspectives, and it’s been a privilege to create music together,” he said.
Smith also took a moment to reflect on his “ride or dies” over the years, highlighting the important relationships that have supported him throughout his career. “DJ Jazzy Jeff has been my partner in rap since the beginning. We’ve been through so much together, and he’s always been there for me,” Smith reminisced. He also spoke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, whom he described as his partner in life. “Jada is my rock. She’s been with me through thick and thin, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner.”
