Khloé Kardashian Reflects on Emotional Reunion with Lamar Odom: ‘I Don’t Know This Person Anymore’
Years after their divorce, Khloé Kardashian is still processing the impact Lamar Odom had on her life and family.
In the latest season of The Kardashians, Khloé, 40, reunited with her ex-husband after nearly a decade of no contact. The emotional meeting at her friend Malika Haqq’s house brought back memories of Odom’s significant role in her family following the passing of her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., in 2003.
“Lamar was the first man to step into our lives as the head of the household,” Khloé shared in a confessional. “He was everyone’s protector, and my family looked up to him.”
During their marriage, Odom was placed on a pedestal by her family, which made his struggles and their eventual separation even more painful. Khloé recalled how his personal battles deeply affected not just her, but also her loved ones.
“It made me sad because the downfall of Lamar impacted every single member of my family,” she admitted. “We still love him, but the man we once knew is no longer there.”
The reunion was a step in Khloé’s journey of healing as she approached her 40th birthday. She reflected on their history, including her difficult decision to cut ties with Odom after his 2015 overdose.
“I had to break contact with him when he started repeating the same behaviors I couldn’t tolerate,” she revealed.
Though their meeting was emotional, Khloé said she no longer recognized the person Odom had become.
“This was the love of my life, and unlearning that love was like mourning a death,” she explained. “It’s so familiar yet completely uncharted. I don’t know this person anymore.”
The emotional reunion left Khloé with closure, but also reinforced that some chapters in life are meant to stay in the past.
