HOLIDAY HEARTBREAK: Another Giants Season Ends in Disappointment Before Thanksgiving.Cau

November 18, 2024 by cau cau

For all intents and purposes, the New York Giants’ 2024 season is over. As they (and everyone else) enjoy their bye week, there’s not much to look forward to when they come back next week to play their final seven games.

The 2-8 Giants held the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft entering Week 10 (now No. 5). According to TeamRankings.com, they are predicted to finish with a 4-13 record and have a 0 percent chance at qualifying for the postseason.

The Giants are the only team with a 0 percent chance of making the playoffs.

“Obviously, we are sitting here at 2-and-8,” general manager Joe Schoen said this week. “Not where we want to be. Nobody is happy about it, ownership, (Brian Daboll), me, coaches, people in the building, the fans, and I understand that.

“What we’re going to do the rest of the week is do self-evaluation on the roster, personnel and try to find solutions as we move forward to these last seven games. So, that’s what we’ll focus on this week…We’ll start circling up with the coaches tomorrow and the rest of the week and see how we can look to turn the ship as we go forward the rest of the season.”

No one is sure what that means. The Giants have turned their roster over sans a few players since Schoen took over in 2022 and here they are again back in last place.

The Giants started off with a bang under Schoen and Daboll, going 9-7-1 and winning a playoff game. Since then, they’ve been a mess with an 8-19 record marked with dysfunctionality, chaos, and embarrassment.
