SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — Today, two San Antonio Police officers are being hailed as heroes by local animal lovers.

City of San Antonio Animal Care Services says Officer Richards didn’t just save a kitten while he was out on call. He then went a step further and volunteered to foster the sweet little feline.

Another one of San Antonio’s finest men in blue also recently went above and beyond the call of duty, according to Advocates for San Antonio Pets (ASAP). They say Officer Jeremy Spencer was sent on a “vicious” dog case and ended up taking the dog to Animal Care Services and contacted rescue groups via Facebook to help find the big, cute canine a good home. ASAP reports that the dog was adopted on the very first day that he was available. ASAP says Officer Spencer and his wife are also foster parents and they help kids our community.

Right on, Officer Richards and Officer Spencer. A big “thank you” for helping serve and protect our four-legged ‘citizens’ too.
