Caitlin Clark Out With Injury, Return Unknown

WNBA fans will have to wait a little longer to see Caitlin Clark back on the court. The Indiana Fever star has missed the last four games with a left quadriceps injury and will miss Tuesday night’s game against the Atlanta Dream.

Fever head coach Stephanie White shared an update on Clark’s status after Monday’s practice. When asked if Clark had been “cleared by the doctor” to return to play, White cautiously replied, “I’m not sure ‘cleared to play’ is the right word. We’re just starting the ramp-up phase.”

Clark has been able to perform some individual drills, but is still not fully involved in high-intensity tactical drills. “One-on-one practice is one thing, but when you’re running up and down the court, turning around, moving back and forth in five-on-five drills, that’s a whole other story,” White added. “We’re going to be smart, cautious, and make long-term recovery a priority. Clark will be reinserted into the lineup slowly and with a plan in place.”

The absence of Caitlin Clark – one of the WNBA’s brightest young talents this season – is obviously a big blow for the Indiana Fever, who are struggling to find consistency in the middle of the season. However, the priority right now is to ensure she’s fully recovered to avoid a recurrence of the injury, especially with a busy schedule ahead.

There is no specific timetable for Clark’s return yet, but fans can rest assured that the Fever coaching staff is taking extra precautions and taking the young star’s long-term health seriously.
