With a resilient effort, the cat tried to approach me and cried for help. Its leg has been broken for two months.
We witnessed a cat with a leg deformity standing and crying next to a flower pot yesterday evening. The sky was darkening, and rain was imminent, but she had nowhere to go. The cat cried with such heartbreak and looked at me with pleading eyes. One of her front legs was broken and twisted to the side. It seemed to be in great pain, unable to move, alternating between standing and lying next to the flower pot.
Many people walked by and observed the pitiful cat, but no one offered any help. A stray cat, with nowhere to go and suffering from a severe injury. How did she end up in such a desperate situation?
Despite the impending rain, she lay there, lonely and cold, continuing to cry in despair. Unable to bear seeing the poor cat endure further agony, I immediately approached her. The cat looked at me with hopeful eyes and displayed adetermined and friendly demeanor.
Cradling her in my arms, we swiftly made our way to a nearby hospital. The veterinarian conducted a thorough examination, blood tests, and X-rays. A significant injury was found in her front leg—a fracture that had occurred some time ago. The external wound was gradually healing, but the underlying bone fracture continued to cause her discomfort. Moreover, improper healing had resulted in a deformed foot, making it impossible for her to stand straight.
Without delay, the cat underwent surgery to realign the fractured bone. After a two-hour wait, she was brought out with her leg carefully bandaged. As the anesthesia wore off, the cat woke up and appeared much more stable. Though she struggled with the tightly bound leg, the pain that had haunted her was now alleviated.
She became cheerful and even more mischievous. Starting to walk again, the cat approached the edge of her enclosure, gently rubbing her head as if expressing gratitude towards me. She will remain at the hospital for monitoring over the next two days. Afterward, we will bring her back to the rescue center and continue to provide care for her.
