Pop sensation Jennifer Lopez’s name has been intertwined a lot with Sean “Diddy” Combs lately after he was arrested on sex trafficking and racketeering charges since the two used to date.
As of late, any celebrity who’s been associated with Diddy, or dated him like J.Lo, has been scrutinized for their connection to the music mogul. Many are speculating which A-listers have gone to one of his infamous freak off” parties, which allegedly included illegal drugs, hidden cameras, sex workers, and underage girls, and which haven’t. Being that J.Lo publicly dated Diddy from 1999 to 2001, the intricacies of their romance have been viewed with more criticism since the onset of Diddy’s countless allegations.
Jennifer recently rocked the internet after a clip resurfaced from a past interview she did where she opened up about her relationship with Diddy.
At first, the Latin pop star admitted that she “didn’t like” the Bad Boys Records founder, but that eventually changed.

“At first I didn’t like him at all. I didn’t,” Jennifer told the off-camera interviewer. “I thought he was like ick. I didn’t like him because…Sean and I were very different…”
She explained that she was very “family-oriented and the marrying type” before she delved into the early stages of how they got together.
“When we first worked together on the video, I was married. Even though I was going through problems. Nobody knew that,” she said. Before she got with Diddy she was briefly married to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, but by 1999 she was with the rapper.
“Once I got to know him, and we became friends first… we developed this bond, the Selena star stated. “We both understood where we were at that time in our lives and we both knew nobody understood exactly how we felt.”
Toward the end of the clip, the Bronx native opened up about how she and Diddy’s were arresedt on the night of the club shooting in New York in 1999. Speaking on her arrest, Jennifer said: “So I’m sitting there, being handcuffed to a bench. I do remember feeling the comfort of someone caring about you enough… that they just want to make it okay…”
In December 1999, Diddy, Jennifer, and his Bad Boy Records artist Moses “Shyne” Barrow were entangled in a shooting at a nightclub in NYC. Jennifer and Diddy were arrested, detained, and spent 14 hours in jail after authorities found a stolen gun in the car they fled the scene in.
Jennifer was quickly released and cleared of all charges. However, Diddy and Shyne faced charges related to gun possession. Although Diddy was acquitted, a New York jury found Shyne guilty of five charges though he was acquitted of attempted murder. Shyne was sentenced to ten years in prison in 2001 and then deported to his home country Belize after his release.
