Amanda Seyfried is opening up about an embarrassing yet unforgettable moment from the 2023 Critics Choice Awards.

While discussing her new lead role in Peacock’s crime thriller Long Bright River, the 39-year-old actress shared with PEOPLE that she suffered a major wardrobe malfunction that night—right in front of Glen Powell.

“My boobs fell out of my dress at the Critics Choice Awards,” Seyfried admitted, laughing. “I was wearing this amazing vintage Dior Haute Couture gown, but it was kind of sewn together, and it literally started falling apart on the red carpet.”

Things escalated when she was mid-conversation with Powell. “We were joking around, and I lifted my arms up—and my dress just gave up. My boobs were out,” she recalled.

Thankfully, Powell handled the moment like a gentleman. “We both screamed, and he covered me—didn’t look… I think,” she said.

Seyfried ultimately accepted her award for The Dropout in someone else’s jacket to avoid any further mishaps.

Beyond that memorable night, Seyfried also shared fun personal moments with PEOPLE, including her kids dressing like the Beastie Boys, her latest obsession with Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please, Please, Please,” and a pricey cashmere sweater she refuses to take off.

Long Bright River premieres on Peacock on March 13.
