SPORT NEWS: Experts reveal how Dallas Cowboys can convince Deion Sanders to take head coaching job..cau

November 20, 2024 by cau cau

Dallas Cowboys can secure an extraordinary double deal as the key to landing Deion Sanders as head coach is bringing in his son Shedeur Sanders as quarterback, too, according to Cowboys legend Michael Irvin

Sanders has been setting school records at Colorado since he moved from Jackson State, including most passing yards in a season (3,230), completion percentage (69.3), and touchdown to interception (27-3). Hes accurate, can throw on the move, and has a toughness in the pocket that belies his 6-foot-2 frame.

His father, Deion, 57, won two Super Bowls as a pro and has been making considerable moves as a coach in college  one who could remedy the woes in Texas. Thats, at least, what Irvin  who played for the Cowboys with Deion in the mid to late 1990s  thinks.

Earlier this week, FS1 host Colin Cowherd asked Irvin whether Deion would take the role if it were available at the Cowboys, provided they brought in Shedeur. I believe 100%, said Irvin, unable to hide his laughter, and I can tell you, good sources have told me that.

He continued: Great sources have told me that. Thats all I can say like that without violating anything else.

The Cowboys are in disarray this season, with three wins agains seven losses, and are in need of a rebuild. For Cowherd, the rebuild is simple. If I was the Dallas Cowboys, he said, per Sports Illustrated, I dont care about Dak [Prescotts] new contract. I would go get Deion Sanders.

I would pick Shedeur Sanders. If I had to give up Micah Parsons and three firsts, I would do it, said Cowherd. You do not get out of bankruptcy putting $13 dollars a month into your 401K. You get out of it with big swings. Thats how you get out of it.

Not everybody is in agreement with Irvin that there is a genuine movement to bring Coach Prime Sanders to Dallas.

Its not real from the conversations Ive had, NFL insider Dianna Russini from The Athletic said Tuesday on The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.

I think Deion wants to stay in college, well start there, Russini said. I know hes been public about that, as well. Talking to people close to him, theyve shared with me that he likes where hes at.

That could change, she noted. But in terms of Dallas, I dont think thats a realistic option for them. I think theyre going to look for a coach with experience in the league. I dont think theyre against that idea of a former player turned head coach, but I dont believe thats the direction theyre going in, for now.
