The actress married producer Bonnie Chance Roberts in May
Married life is treating Beanie Feldstein very well.
The Drive Away Dolls actress, 30, married Bonnie Chance Roberts in May at a summer camp themed wedding in Hudson Valley, New York and the pair made sure the event was as personal as possible from start to finish.
“We wanted it to feel really personal. I think sometimes weddings can feel like you’re so far away from the couple and it’s this, like, fancy stuffy thing and we wanted it to be the opposite of that,” she said on The Drew Barrymore Show on Friday after Barrymore, 49, asked why the couple chose a “love-letter theme” for their nuptials.
“So I actually wrote our invitation in my handwriting,” Feldstein continued. “So the first thing you saw was the invitation in my own writing.”
From there, she wanted to keep that personal touch “throughout” the wedding, so she “wrote the menu,” among other things. Those intimate details kept the event true to her and Roberts’ “actual selves,” she said. “And it was cozy.”
The actress also joked about the similarity between her and her wife’s names. “My wife’s name is Bonnie. Beanie and Bonnie — so embarrassing.”
Still, Feldstein said of her wife, who she met on the set of How to Build a Girl and got engaged to in June 2022: “She’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”
Feldstein was joined by her wife at the New York City premiere of her latest film on Tuesday, and she couldn’t help but gush about married life.
“My favorite part of married life is everything,” she told PEOPLE. “But I think the big thing that felt different was saying ‘my wife.’ [It] has more power than like ‘my girlfriend’ … you know, it’s like ‘my wife’ is like ‘oh, this is legit.’ ”
Of her wife’s support at the premiere, she said, “Oh my god, I just want her with me every second of every day. So it’s like of course she had to be here and she looks so beautiful.”
